On July 28th, I had the opportunity to be a master of ceremony in PERGIZI Pangan Webinar Series 159. This webinar discussed adolescents' nutrition. The three speakers were Efina Amanda SGz MGz, Mulya Agustina SGz Msi, and Alfian Abdul Rajab STrGz MGz. They are a nutrition lecturer at STIKES Banyuwangi.
These are some points we can conclude from this webinar:
We should be aware of adolescents because this is the transition between children and adults. In this phase, they grow and maturate both physically and mentally. Therefore, we should ensure their healthy diet meets adequacy, balance, diversity, and moderation.
Some problems happen in adolescents, for instance, malnutrition and iron deficiency anemia. The causative factors are bad eating habits, lack of nutrition knowledge, food preference, etc. To face these problems, adolescents should implement Balanced Nutrition Guidelines Indonesia (PUGS, 2014) and "Isi Piringku."
In addition, dietary patterns for Gen-Z are; consuming carbohydrates 3-8 portions/day, animal and plant proteins 2-3 portions/day, vegetables 3-5 portions/day, and fruits 2-3 portions/day. Moreover, limiting natrium (1 tsp or 5 g/day), fat (1 tbsp or 67 g/day, and sugar (4 tbsp or 50 g/day).
